Self Hypnosis

No, we are not going to have you flapping your arms and clucking like a chicken!

Self hypnosis has a dubious image which has been cloaked in mystery, magic and mayhem by entertainers. However hypnotism is much more than a stage trick.

Hypnosis does a couple of things.

  1. Hypnosis puts you into a deep state of relaxation. Helping your body to relax it creates a 'relaxation response' that reduces the stress hormones in your body.
  2. Hypnosis replaces all the distracting negative thoughts with a resounding positive thought. It replaces the negative "I can’t" with a resounding affirmation that "I can".

Hypnosis can change your perception of the situation and develop your belief and confidence to deal with stress.

Hypnosis can also develop your skills to control your fears and anxiety, build your confidence and motivation and promote healthy living.

See how hypnosis works with this video.

Hypnosis is a safe and effective stress management tool.

The great thing about self hypnotism is that you can do it just about anywhere and you don't need a hypnotist.

Self hypnotism is hypnosis that you do on yourself!

Hypnosis has many therapeutic applications. You can use hypnosis:

  • to reduce your anxiety.
  • as a way to manage your pain.
  • as a weight loss strategy.
  • to reduce compulsive habits such as smoking, and stress related problems such as high blood pressure.
  • to deal with speech anxiety and become more confident giving a speech in front of others.

Hypnosis can be done by you? If you want to learn how to hypnotize yourself, you need somewhere that is quite and comfortable. You will also need to be able to relax your body and some form of suggestion that you will repeat to yourself.

If you are too tired to do your own hypnosis, an alternative is to search and listen to these hypnosis MP3s.
