Prepare in advance for travel stress and connecting flights

by Carey
(LA)

I do plenty of traveling and therefore connecting flights, and I used to get really stressed when my flight was delayed or canceled.

But delayed flights are becoming the norm rather than the exception and the stress was starting to really wear me down.

So what I do now is put the airline's reservation number into my cell. Rather than line up to talk to the airline representative at the departure gate, I just call the airline's reservations on their toll-free number.

I have also found it quite useful (depending on the airline and flight) to just go to the ticketing area of the airport and rebook another flight. I have also done this on my iPhone (which has web access) at the airport.

Another way (if it fits with your schedule) is to fly early in the morning which reduces the chances of the knock-on effect of delayed flights building up.
